Diploma in Clinical Medicine

Three-year program equipping students with essential medical knowledge and clinical skills — internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, emergency medicine, pharmacology, and community health.

3 Years NTA Level 4–6 NACTVET
Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery

Three-year program preparing skilled nurses and midwives capable of providing holistic care — medical-surgical nursing, maternal & child health, mental health, pharmacology, and nursing management.

  • Registered Nurse, Midwife, Health Supervisor
3 Years NTA Level 4–6 NACTVET
Allied Health Certificate Programs

Short-term certificate programs in laboratory technology, medical imaging, pharmacy assistance, and community health work — focused on hands-on skills to support healthcare teams.

1–2 Years NACTVET

Entry requirements
  • Completion of secondary school (O-Level) with passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 credits including English and Kiswahili
  • Satisfactory performance in IIHAS aptitude assessment or interview
  • Relevant work experience in health or community service is an advantage
  • International students must have equivalent recognized qualifications
Qualifications awarded
  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine (NTA Level 4–6)
  • Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery (NTA Level 4–6)
  • Certificates in Allied Health Sciences
  • Recognized by NACTVET and relevant professional councils
  • Eligible for national registration in professional healthcare councils

How to apply
IIHAS joining instructions

Follow these steps to ensure a smooth enrollment process:

  1. 1 Download and complete the IIHAS application form from the official website or pick one from the admissions office.
  2. 2 Attach certified copies of your academic transcripts, certificates, and a birth certificate or national ID.
  3. 3 Provide two passport-sized photos and recommendation letters from teachers, employers, or community leaders.
  4. 4 Submit your application in person or via email to the admissions office.
  5. 5 Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and/or aptitude assessment.
  6. 6 Successful candidates will receive an official admission offer with details on tuition fees, registration, and orientation.
  7. 7 Attend the orientation session and complete all registration procedures before starting classes.
